Gyeran Bap (Korean Egg Rice)

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup short grain rice (long grain or jasmine rice also works)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 0.5 tbsp Sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp light Soy sauce
  • 1 tsp toasted Sesame seeds
  • 1 Spring oinion, finely sliced
  • 0.5 tsp vegetable oil

Directions

  1. Cook rice.
  2. Once rice is cooked, mix in the butter until well combined. transfer to a bowl.
  3. In a frying pan turned to medium heat, fry up the egg using the vegetable oil. Fry the egg until the white is cooked but the yolk is still runny. Place egg over the buttered rice.
  4. Sprinkle the sesame seeds and spring onion over the rice and egg.
  5. Drizzle the sesame oil and soy sauce.
  6. Mix and enjoy.
